Welcome to New Plymouth Underwater

New Plymouth Underwater is New Zealand’s premier occupational dive, sub-sea and marine support providers.  We provide solutions to various sectors including (but not limited to) occupational diving, remote operated vehicles (ROV), salvage and recovery, ports and harbours, utilities industries, offshore / inshore oil & gas industries, and marine engineering.

Formed in 1970 and under current directorship since 1995, our business has seen continued growth and success as we constantly strive to be New Zealand’s foremost sub-sea solution specialist. We are a driven, innovative, and imaginative team, applying our “can do” attitude to each and every project that we undertake.  It is this mentality that allows us to be industry leaders and the country’s foremost occupation diving and marine support service provider.

Quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) management is a key component to our culture and ongoing development as a company.  Our integrated QHSE management system is modeled on ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Requirements and AS/NZS 4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.  At New Plymouth Underwater we take great pride in our safety record and our commitment to provide an incident free workplace for our employee’s, sub-contractors and clients.  As a part of our ongoing focus on safety and quality, all of our diving and diving support equipment is maintained to the highest standard by trained and certified professionals.

New Plymouth Underwater is a Shell Dive Center of Excellence, a member of the Association of Diving Contractors NZ (ADCNZ), and an accredited diving contractor for Class In-Water Survey under ABS, DNV-GL, and Lloyds Register.  We conduct all operations under the industry accepted “best” practice and voluntarily comply with AS/NZS 2299.1 as our focus remains strongly on ensuring a safe and incident free workplace.
